| Halloween when I was a kid are some of my best memories. I loved dressing up and getting candy. It was a very fun and exciting time of year for my brother and I. We usually had fun parties where we invited our friends over and dunked for apples, smacked a pumpkin pinata that my mom made with us, played flashlight tag and so on. HOWEVER, I will not be letting my children carry on these traditions. Last year I let my children and husband "talk" me into letting them dress up and go "trick or treating". I did not go with them. Paul took them to the UP Mall and they had fun and got alot of candy. But I felt horribly guilty. I said then..."I can't let this happen again." This year again I struggled with the fun aspect of it. I know it is evil and I will not participate...however I want to create new wholesome fun memories for my children. I am looking for some ideas. This year I bought a little candy for the kids and I thought I would take them to Chuckie Cheeses or bowling or something. I don't want to stay home unless there is a way I can distract them from the other "trick or treaters" We did Chuckie Cheeses two years ago and incorporated Jacobs Birthday. His birthday is Nov. 1st. But I don't want to do that again, because all his little cousins and friends "trick or treat" and couldn't come. I think this year I will do CC again. What do you all do in place of trick or treating? | | |
| Wow...what an incredible vacation. We were blessed to have been able to take such an awesome vacation. We left on Sept. 26th and returned home on Oct. 7th. I must add that we were childless!!! My very good friend Betsy watched all 6 of my kids for us so we could get away. I can't even tell you what a blessing that was. What a relief it was to have someone so trustworthy watch my children. I never worried about them one time. Though I did think of them often. And of course I prayed for everyone while we were gone. I was sure Betsy would need my prayers. Anyways, we started planning for and paying for this vacation over a year ago. We went with Pauls brother and sister in law. It was for both of our 10 year anniversaries. We went on a cruise to Jamaica and the Grand Caymen Islands. We started our vacation out in Ft Myers Fl. Where we stayed at my Aunts Condo. We were there for 2 and a half days, then we drove to Ft Lauderdale where we boarded our massive cruise ship. We set sail and were out to see for 5 nights and 6 days. We then returned to Ft Lauderdale and went on an air boat ride through the everglades. That was awesome. We saw several birds and alligators. Up close, like within reach if we wanted to stick our hands out of the boat. We got some really cool pictures. Then we got to hold a 4 ft alligator. That was cool. He was pure muscle. So after that we went to Miami Fl. and cruised around. Then headed back to Ft Myers, where we stayed for 2 and a half more days before flying back home to reality!!! We had a wonderful time. THANK YOU BETSY FOR MAKING THIS A WORRY FREE VACATION. THANK YOU FOR LOVING MY KIDS. AND THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD FRIEND! I LOVE YOU! | | |
| So our family has lost one and gained two! We lost Nevaeh as she went back home with her mommy. But God graciously gave us two more beautiful girls to love and care for. The first little one we picked up from the hospital, she is a newborn. The second little girl is 3. And she is precious! So beautiful with long blonde curls and blue eyes. She melts my heart! I will type more in a couple of weeks as I am pecking at this keyboard with one hand. I broke my right hand in 3 places at work 2 weeks ago. So hopefully when I get this cast thing off, I will have enough use of my hand to be able to type more. I have so much to share. By the way...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GREAT FRIEND BETSY!!! I LOVE YOU, HOPE YOU HAD A BLESSED DAY!!!! | | |
| I had to put an internet filter on my computer to prevent my little ones from accidently opening a site, that is not appropriate for them. And, well, I can't figure out how to let it let me on here. It blocks me here and at myspace. So, I won't be updating much, if at all. I do still get to read all your entries as they are sent to my e-mail address. I happen to be a work today, and had a quiet moment to get on. So I just wanted you all to know why I haven't updated lately. Monique, I wish it was cause I was so full of energy. Anyway, I miss you all and love to read your entries. | | |
